Effects of Moving Landmark’s Speed on Multi-Robot Simultaneous Localization and Mapping in Dynamic Environments
Even when simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) solutions have been broadly developed, the vast majority of them relate to a single robot performing measurements in static environments. Researches show that the performance of SLAM algorithms deteriorates under dynamic environments. In this paper, a multi-robot simultaneous localization and mapping (MR-SLAM) system is implemented within a...
متن کاملMobile Robot Localization in Outdoor Environments Using Complementary Filtering
As a mobile robot navigates through an indoor environment, the condition of the floor is of low (or no) relevance to its decisions, because it does not expect to find holes, rocks or other severe imperfections. In an outdoor environment, terrain characteristics play a major role on the robot’s motion. Without an adequate assessment of terrain conditions and irregularities, the robot will be pro...
متن کاملCar-like robot path following in large unstructured environments
This paper addresses the problem of on-line path following for a car working in unstructured outdoor environments. The partially known map of the environment is updated and expanded in real time by a Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) algorithm. This information is used to implement global path planning. A cost graph is initially constructed followed by a search to find the near-optim...
متن کاملLocalization for a car-like mobile robot using nonlinear dynamic model
The problem of localization is well known in mobile robotics. A solution is to use a model-based technique such as a kalman filter with multi sensor data fusion. For a car-like mobile robot, the nonlinear dynamic model is suitable for robot movement representation. This work presents the discrete extended kalman filter including a nonlinear dynamic model for the mobile robot localization. As in...
متن کاملControl of a Car-Like Robot Using a Dynamic Model
A solution to the problem of controlling a car-like nonholonomic robot is proposed using a \virtual" vehicle approach, which is shown to be robust with respect to errors and disturbances. The proposed algorithms are model independent, and the stability analysis is done using a dynamical model, in which, for instance, the side slip angles are taken into account.
